Fuel Prices
How long are the British people going to get ripped off by this Labour government, allowing the constant increase in fuel prices?
Believe me, if the Conservatives were in power -and even, God forbid, the Liberal Democrats -the situation would still be the same!
When fuel prices rise, the cost of living always goes up! We all know this. "Who suffers?" Us not the politicians!
Most people can now only afford to use their cars as a necessity, yet the government are allowing sub-post offices to close, causing people - especially OAPs,
to travel further to collect pensions and essentials.
The proliferation of multi-national companies getting planning permission to build out of town centre retail parks,
have caused more people to travel to the shops they need.
I thought that the policy of goverment was to try and get people to use their cars less and travel less? With less local shops and Post Offices this is impossible.
In the winter of 2008/2009 there were stories of some pensioners needing to go out in their cars to get warm!
The increasing cost of central heating was forcing them to turn off their heating to try and save money, or because they were scared that they could not afford to pay the bill.
I doubt if any politicians suffered like this - they just claimed on their expenses -in any of their homes!!
There are people of a green persuasion who believe that fuel prices should increase drastically,
in order to cut the use of cars/lorries etc, and reduce carbon emissions.
Do they care who they will make suffer by this? I think not.
The only people, as always, who benefit from fuel price increases are those who have investments in oil companies, and politicians who can bail their pals in the banking systems out with our taxes. And they can all afford the price rises anyway.
